Ms. Kathleen Stewart, 100, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Brookdale Concord South.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Jolley will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Miss Stewart was born on August 7, 1914 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Henry Stewart and Emma Mayfield Little Stewart. She retired from Cannon Mills after forty-five years in the Accounts Payable Auditing Department. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She had previously attended Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church where she was a youth leader for thirteen years. Ms. Stewart was presently attending Flow Harris Presbyterian Church.
Ms. Stewart was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary for 63 years. She helped form the Kannapolis Auxiliary in 1957 and served as the third state Auxiliary president from 1959-1962. It was Ms. Stewart’s mission to give out Nurse Testaments and share God’s Word with others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe Leonard Stewart, James Marshall Stewart, Clarence M. Stewart and Leroy McFayden Stewart.
