L. C. Gearing

Mr. L. C. Gearing, 72, of 435 Sylvan Road, China Grove, NC, died Monday, June 17, 2002, at Big Elm Nursing Center in Kannapolis. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at the National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Mr. Gearing was born September 28, 1929 in Madison County, GA. He was a son of the late Lewis W. Gearing and Clydie Scarborough Gearing. He was a truck driver for Southeastern and Northeastern Motor Lines. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Korea, where he received the Purple Heart. Mr. Gearing is survived by his son, Terry M. Gearing of Kannapolis; two brothers, Herman Gearing of Kannapolis, and C. D. Gearing of Concord; two sisters, Gertrude Freeze of China Grove, and Pauline Hersey of New London.
