Larry Ray Boyd

Mr. Larry Ray Boyd, 63, of 2125 Clay St., died Sunday, April 8, 2007. Funeral services for Mr. Boyd will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Beaver Hammond will officiate. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home. Mr. Boyd was born March 11, 1944, in Whitewood, Va., a son of the late Clarence Boyd and Virginia Ferrell Boyd. A retired pipe fitter, Mr. Boyd was also a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid sportsman and a life member of the NRA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Boyd. Survivors include his wife, Linda Moffitt Boyd; a son, Daryl Boyd and wife, Cyndi, of Kannapolis; a daughter, Anita Hegler of Concord; three brothers, Harold Boyd, Clarence Boyd Jr. and David Boyd, all of Virginia; four grandchildren, Amber McClure, Travis Boyd, Brittany Hegler and Brandon Hegler; and one great-granddaughter, Kaylee McClure.
