Larry Eugene Gainey

Mr. Larry Eugene Gainey, 60, of 525 Daugherty Road, China Grove, died Sunday, October 7, 2007, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 904 Chipola Street, Kannapolis. The Rev. James Pauley will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. At other times they will be at the home. Born March 8, 1947 in Hartsville, SC, he was the son of Sarah Dixon Gainey and the late Woodrow Wilson Gainey, Sr. He was employed in retail grocery sales. Mr. Gainey was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Alice Tyner Gainey; two sons, Stacey Allen Gainey of Salisbury and Kelly Eugene Gainey; stepson, Johnny Carson James of Concord; mother, Sarah Dixon Gainey of Concord; three sisters, Sandra Doster and husband, Billy, and Juanita Gainey, all of Kannapolis, Cathy Beaver and husband, Douglas, of China Grove; two brothers, Carroll Gainey of Lemar, SC, Dennis Gainey and wife, Leeann of Mt. Pleasant; and two step-grandchildren.
