Laura Lou Edwards Childress

Laura Lou Edwards Childress, 82, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Laura was born November 29, 1942 in Cabarrus County. She was the daughter of the late George Wilson Edwards and Jewell Price Edwards. She retired from the NC Housing Authority where she worked as a Supervisor. She was also involved with the Kannapolis Credit Women - International.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wilson Price Edwards.

Laura is survived by her son, Gerald Childress (Lisa) of China Grove; two grandchildren, Tiffany Frost (Ken) and Andrew Childress (Kristen); and six great grandchildren, Roma, Arabella, Karissa, Aurelia, Madeline and Alaina.

In accordance with her wishes, the family will hold a private memorial service to honor her life and memory.
