Leland Beck Fry

Mr. Leland Beck Fry, 92, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016, at his residence.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, May 19, 2016, at First United Methodist Church in Landis. Pastor Adam Love will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:45 pm Thursday at First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Fry was born December 31, 1923 in Patchinville, PA. He was a son of the late George C. Fry and Mabel Fulton Fry. He was a landscape engineer, a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II in Europe, and was also a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Leland Everett Fry; brother, George Fry, Jr.; and sister, Mildred Kime.

Mr. Fry is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Margaret Hopkins Fry; four daughters, Linda Davis and husband Russ, Sharon Lydic and husband Tom, Sandy Martin and husband John, Doris Matthews, all of Kannapolis; three sisters, Eula Mae McMasters and husband Bogue of Franklin, PA, Eileen Merrick of Reseda, CA, and Juanita Stockley of Cherry Tree, PA; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and caretakers, Linda Keever, Debbie Allen, Sandy, and Doris.
