Leola Hendrix Diggs

Leola Hendrix Diggs, 94, of Kannapolis, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009. Visitation will be at Lady's Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 21 from 1 to 2:30 pm. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm Carolina Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Leon Smith. She was born March 3, 1915 in Candler County, Georgia to Lessie B. and Charlie Hendrix. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rufus Diggs and an infant son, William Little Diggs. Mrs. Diggs is survived by her son, Ralph G. Diggs and daughters Frances Shepherd, husband Woodrow; Linda Bowers, husband Gene; Wanda Hardin, husband, David; grandchildren Ralph Diggs, Jr. wife Kim, Tammy McLemore, husband, Michael; Dr. James Shepherd, wife Christina, Susan Robinson, husband Shawn, Brandi Morgan, husband Billy, nine very wonderful great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. Mrs. Diggs attributed her longevity to her strong Christian faith and her shared devotion and love with her family. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Transitional Health Services for their care in her declining health. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Robert Levy for his compassionate care.
