Leomar Byrd

Mrs. Leomar Jacobs Byrd, 98, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017, at her home.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Byrd was born October 5, 1918 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Charlie B. Jacobs and Ethel Jacobs. She retired from Cannon Mills where she worked in the spinning and weave rooms. She was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Theodore Byrd; five brothers; and son-in-law, James Coleman Delevie.

Mrs. Byrd is survived by her daughter, Sandra Delevie of Concord; son, Deral Byrd and wife Shirley Ann of the home; sister, Margaret Misenheimer of Rockwell; two brothers, George Jacobs and Charlie B. Jacobs, both of China Grove; two grandchildren, Deral Byrd, Jr. and Adam Byrd, both of Kannapolis; and great granddaughter, Hannah Grace Byrd.
