Leon Eugene Vinson

Mr. Leon Eugene Vinson, 88, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Universal Health Care in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, April 26, 2021, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Gary Scoggins will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

The family asks that social distancing be observed and all attendees wear masks.

Mr. Vinson was born January 20, 1933 in Madison County, GA. He was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Vinson and Annie Graham Vinson. He was an avid gardener. Leon enjoyed working on his tractors. He was an overall friendly man, and loved speaking to many people.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Odia Bell Graham Vinson; daughter, Martha Gainey; two sisters, Grace Pittard and Alice Hall; and one brother, Travis Vinson.

Mr. Vinson is survived by two children, Terry Vinson and wife Becky of China Grove and Kathy Albright and husband Daryl of Kannapolis; six grandchildren, Jill Kadel, Denise Sprouse, Chris Gainey, Joshua Vinson, Alisha Wilson and Kathryne Wehlman; 17 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
