Linda Kay Allman Hodge

Linda Hodge, age 83, of Kannapolis, NC, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Autumn Care of Salisbury. Born on November 5, 1942 in Concord, NC, Linda was the daughter of the late Rev. Lester Allman and Elizabeth McQueen Allman.

A 1961 graduate of Landis High School, Linda continued her education at Evans Business College. She began her career with Motor Parts, Inc. of Kannapolis, and later worked for Transitional Health Services until her retirement in 2007.

An active member of First Wesleyan Church in Kannapolis, Linda served on the Local Board of Administration, was President of the Lovin Care Circle, executive secretary of the 50s Plus Senior Ministry, and long time teacher of the Pathfinders Sunday School Class. She was also a delegate to the North Carolina West District Conference and was a supporter of the Camp Wesley Camp Meeting. She was a pianist and organist for twenty-five years.

Linda lived a life marked by quiet generosity and unwavering faith. She found great joy in serving others, whether by preparing home-cooked meals, sharing baked goods and home-canned treats, or offering encouragement through acts of kindness. One of her greatest demonstrations of love was the many years she devoted to caring for her mother at home. Above all, Linda cherished her family. She was a loving mother, proud grandmother, and faithful friend whose kindness, wisdom, and steadfast love will be deeply missed.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hodge, a son, Christopher Hodge, her parents, and her brother, Rev. Max Allman. She is survived by daughters Gina Collins (Ed) of Wilmington, NC, and Angel Wood (Todd) of Weddington, NC, grandchildren Hannah Collins, Brady Collins and Mack Wood, and sister-in-law Mary Sue Bentley (Larry).

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 12:00 at First Wesleyan Church, 301 Bethpage Rd., Kannapolis, NC, officiated by Rev. Scott Wheeler. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00-11:45. Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 301 Bethpage Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Morningside of Concord, Autumn Care of Salisbury, and Liberty Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity they provided to Linda during her final years. Their love, support, and dedication brought comfort not only to Linda, but to her entire family, and will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
