Our beautiful Linda left us at Atrium Cabarrus on March 17, 2023.
Linda was born Linda Rebecca Honeycutt on February 25, 1942, in Franklin County, Georgia, to the late Richard Honeycutt and Frances Scarboro Honeycutt. Linda was married to the late Curtis Wayne Copley, who is buried at Carolina Memorial Park, where they shall be apart no more. We welcome you to speak as we celebrate Linda's life Psalm Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Lady's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, N.C, as Demps Overcash officiates the service.
About our Beautiful Linda; Linda was a high school graduate at A.L Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC she graduated in 1960, Linda went on to pursue a degree at a business college. Her skills then led her to become a Catalog Manager Specialist in Corporate Services with Duke Energy for twenty years of service, retiring in 2003. Linda was a great seamstress and fashionista from a very early age. She would make beautiful creations for herself and members of her family. Linda loved to travel and enjoyed taking Christian Tours with her mother, the Late Frances Scarboro Honeycutt they loved to travel to many different states. Linda loved to share their adventures with all the pictures she took. Linda loved photography, keeping a treasure trove of photos of all her family members. She especially treasured the ones of her Granny Florie Scarboro and her loving cousins Steve Scarboro, Ajai Overcash, Garlene Shinn, Pat Laney, and Kim Scarboro. She had a Bible app that would read to her completing the books of the Bible every year, oh how she loved Jesus. Linda could listen to her gospel and country songs for hours. There were no doubts about where she would be when she left this world.
You could just hear her saying to everyone of us no more sorrow, no pain, I was waiting on my wings, when Jesus called my name. I’m in heaven now looking down on you, wipe the tears from your eyes. Linda would want the same for you. Knowing Jesus died for all our sins so we would have eternal life John 3:16 The last event Linda attended was a wedding where she was treated like a queen, having her hair and makeup done and a special table so she could see everything, because she was affectionately known as “Aunt Linda" to the bride Chelsea. She loved to hear Chelsea sing.
Along with Chelsea's Mother, Bridget Jones, who always ensured her "Aunt Linda" "had her homemade macaroni & cheese and pineapple-baked ham. It didn't matter how many miles they had to drive, Bridget's Sons Bradley and Dustin Jones, or James Congema, Chelsea's Husband, would see that Linda had her favorites. Bridget's Husband, Brad Jones, and close family friend Bobby Ray Mullis were always there to help with whatever was needed. My Brother Gary Tucker kept her repeatedly laughing when he would call reading her jokes from the web. Linda had a good life. She had many cherished things, including flowers, birds, squirrels, and rabbits. Everything was planted or placed so she could see from the comfort of her chair. She so loved her Himalayan cats of eighteen years, Buster and Sissy. She said she would see them in heaven at the rainbow bridge. She also left her Revonda; that's what she called me. She always told everyone, "no, you can't have her God put her here for me when Curtis was sick" Linda would tell me every day how she loved and appreciated me. This love and affection went both ways. Linda lifted me when I was down and sent extra special prayers when I needed them most. Now I'm asking for prayers for those that hear my cries.
My name is Revonda Hooks. It's hard to say a final goodbye with tears streaming down your face as you place that last kiss on her cheek; I'm selfish, not wanting to let her go. I loved her so much. She was my life and heart twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. God put Linda in my life about thirteen years ago. Her family was mine, and my family hers. As her favorite hymn softly plays, "IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL," As I release her, the chains break free, and there's an aura in the room. I know the angels were singing as she entered the kingdom of heaven. Her loved ones waiting for a hallelujah reunion with their beautiful Linda are her parents, Richard and Frances Honeycutt, her husband, Curtis Copley, and Granny Florie Scarboro.
The family would like to thank Kannapolis Church of God for their prayers and support and would like to request no flowers.
