Louise Stewart Carpenter

Mrs. Louise Stewart Carpenter, 89, a loving wife and mother, went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 14, 2013, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Lutheran Chapel Church in China Grove. Rev. Bill Connelly will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Carpenter was born on May 18, 1924 in Lincoln County. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin Crawford Stewart and Kate Navey Stewart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Carpenter; son, Jimmy Carpenter, sister, Betty Grigg; and brother, Ben Stewart.

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her son, Frank Carpenter of Landis; daughter-in-law, Susan Carpenter of Rockwell; two sisters, Mary Black of Gastonia and Doris Pace of Mooresville; two grandchildren, Christy Carpenter and Stephanie Carpenter; and great grandson, Jonathan Carpenter.
