Lucy Elizabeth Creed Fulk, 96, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, North Carolina.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Mt. Mitchell Methodist Church, 6001 Old Salisbury Concord Road, Kannapolis, NC. Rev. Joel Locklear, Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev. Alan Thompson will officiate. Mrs. Fulk will lie in state from 12:30 to 1:00 prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Mitchell Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
Lucy was born on October 8, 1929, in Siloam, NC. She was the daughter of the late Isaac Lester Creed and Lillie Mae Flippin Creed. Lucy felt a profound calling to be a minister’s wife, and her unwavering commitment to working alongside her husband for 57 years in the ministry and mission work was a testament to her devotion to her faith, her husband, and her beliefs. As a dedicated member of Mt. Mitchell Methodist Church, she cherished her participation in the Ladies Sunday School class. Lucy had a remarkable ability to light up any room she entered, bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Her sense of humor and talent for entertaining could captivate any crowd. She instilled in her children the qualities of independence, strength, and a strong work ethic.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 68 years, Joseph Marion Fulk, Sr.; her son, Joseph Marion Fulk, Jr.; sisters, Stella Hardy; Maeola Posey; Gladys Harvey and brothers, Curtis Creed and Jimmie Creed.
Lucy is survived by son, Colon R. Fulk and wife Pam of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; two daughters, Ann F. Newsome and husband Ronnie of Kannapolis and Pepper F. Triplet and husband Jon of Mooresville; daughter-in-law Dianne Fulk of Concord; sister, Jewel Dean Coe of Dobson, brother Kenneth Creed of Siloam; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
