Mrs. Lula Byars Bost, 90, of 1312 Dogwood Avenue, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dave Cash will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence. Born March 22, 1917, in Cleveland County, Mrs. Bost was the daughter of the late James Raymond Byars and Elizabeth Dover Byars. She was formerly employed at Charlotte Casket Company in Charlotte. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church where she taught children's Sunday school classes for 50 years and was formerly active in the United Methodist Women. She was a past president of Shadybrook Elementary School PTA. Her husband, Leon Vibert Bost, preceded her in death on March 20, 2006. Survivors include two sons, Danny Hart Bost and wife, Linda, of China Grove and Richard Leon Bost and wife, Freda, of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Eugene Manning Byars of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Dustin Bost of Atlanta, Ga., Heather Horne of Mt. Pleasant and Brooke Beam of Greensboro; and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Midway United Methodist Church, Playground Fund, 108 Bethpage Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
