Mrs. Lula Grace Adcock Kirkley, 92, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, June 3, 2016, at Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Walt Lyman and Rev. James Pauley will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kirkley was born October 10, 1923 in Chesterfield County, SC. She was a daughter of the late John Henry Adcock and Fannie Mae Braddock Adcock. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, SC. Mrs. Kirkley retired from Cannon Mils as a weaver after 32 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she sang in the choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years James Kirkley; numerous brothers and sisters; son-in-law, Barry Cox; and grandson-in-law, Brian Campbell.

Mrs. Kirkley is survived by daughters, Judy Cox and Helen Eubanks and husband John, both of Kannapolis; brothers, Harold Adcock of Pageland, SC, and Ray Adcock of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Edith Kirkley of Jefferson, SC, Bernice McPherson of Bethune, SC, Bobbie Mintz of Lexington, SC; granddaughters, LuAnn Campbell of Landis, Marsha Honeycutt and husband Todd of Concord; grandsons, Brad Cox and wife Beth and Scott Cox, both of Kannapolis, NC; and eight great-grandchildren.
