Luther Jones, Jr.

Mr. Luther Jones, Jr., 68, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3301 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. Rev. Dr. Clifford Jones, Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Saturday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Mr. Jones was born February 13, 1943 in Charlotte. He was a son of the late Luther Jones, Sr. and Lugene Boyd Jones. He worked as an industrial painter. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Donna Holmes Jones; daughters, Tiffany Featherston and Antoinette Johnson both of Charlotte; step-son, Victor Newman of CA; sisters, Alice Diamond and Mary Jones of Charlotte; step-sister, Julia A. Jones of Charlotte; brother, Arthur Jones of Charlotte; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorial donations in honor of Mr. Jones may be made to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3400 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216.
