Lynn Edward Randolph

Faithful husband, loving father, treasured friend and neighbor, Lynn Edward Randolph, 73, of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center after extended months of declining health. Born to the late Charles and Odessa Randolph in Iredell County NC on November 5, 1936, Lynn was an alumnus of Mills Home Orphanage of Thomasville NC from age 10 to 16 where he made lasting and fond memories with many fellow brothers and sisters. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving aboard the U.S.S. Princeton. During his employment career he held positions with Cannon Mills Co. of Kannapolis NC, the Coca Cola Bottling Co. of Concord NC, and the DuPont Cape Fear Plant from where he retired. He was a member of Winter Park Baptist Church in Wilmington and former member of Centerview Baptist Church in Kannapolis NC He leaves his wife, Voncille Randolph; three children, Timothy Lynn Randolph of Kannapolis, Tony Dale Randolph (Donna) of Charlotte and Kim Renae Randolph Evans (William) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Andrew Preston Randolph, Carley Anne Randolph, William Lynn Evans, David Arthur Evans, and Stephen Alexander Evans; and great grandson Samuel Elijah Evans; twin brother, Glenn Edgar Randolph (Lois) of Charlotte; sister, Margaret Gaynelle Randolph Harley of New Berg, Oregon; stepbrother, DeLane Randolph (Shirley) of Williamsburg, VA; and a stepsister Charlene Patterson of Stanley NC. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday May 6, 2010 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday May 8, 2010 at Centerview Baptist Church of Kannapolis, where the family will receive friends prior to the funeral service officiated by the Rev. Willie Rash. The burial ceremony will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
