Mable Perry Barringer

November 15, 1914 — May 30, 2003

Mrs. Mable Annie Perry Barringer, 88, a resident of Avante at Concord, and formerly of Desota Avenue in Kannapolis, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Kannapolis Church of Christ. Mr. Kirk Sams will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Kannapolis Church of Christ, 2315 Concord Lake Road, Kannapolis. At other times they will be at the home of a niece, Cassie Cannon, 705 Rainbow Drive, Kannapolis. Born November 15, 1914, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas William Perry and the late Ethel Gertrude Helms Perry. She retired several years ago from the Set Department of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis. Following retirement, she volunteered at NorthEast Medical Center for several years. Mable was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and most important to her, a member of Kannapolis Church of Christ. She leaves a legacy of faithfulness to the Lord and His Church, an example to all of patience, perseverance and commitment. Her greatest wish would be for others to be led to Christ by the example of her life as she obeyed Christ and His example. The absolute truths of the Bible, God's Word, were her guide and now are her comfort. She had a great love for her family, always thinking of them first, a great forgiving heart was an example to all of us. In addition to he parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Otis Barringer, who died July 20, 1992; a son, Thomas Lawson Barringer, who died March 3, 1989; a sister, Lucy Shull; and six brothers, Mack Perry, Robert Perry, T. W. Perry, J. C. Perry, Marshal Perry and Jack Perry. Survivors include three sisters, Johnie Nestlehutt of Kannapolis, Margie Pusser of Chesterfield, SC and Martha Nesbit of Marion; one brother, Joe Perry of Reidsville; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews who will all miss her. Memorials may be sent to Carolina Bible Camp, 1988 Jericho Church Road, Mocksville, NC 27028.
