Mack Lester Smith

Mr. Mack Lester Smith, 83, of 4228 Irish Potato Road, Concord, died Friday, September 30, 2005, at NorthEast Medical Center. A private graveside service will be conducted Sunday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Born May 11, 1922, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Millard C. Smith and Ollie Ashby Smith. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army and retired from Cannon Mills after 55 years of employment. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Russell Smith. Survivors include two sons, Donald Smith and wife, Diane, of Salisbury and Ronnie Smith and wife, Janet, of Concord; a brother, Roland Smith of Kannapolis; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
