Mrs. Margaret Troutman Burleson, 87, died peacefully at Hospice House in Rockingham County, NC on Wednesday, June 10th, 2015, after suffering from a prolonged illness.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Carolina Memorial Park. Rev. Leon Smith and Rev. Chris Murphy willl officiate.
Margaret was born on November 24, 1927. She was the daughter of the late James C. Troutman and Nora Lee Troutman. She retired from Cannon Mills after a long career as Secretary to the Vice President of Finance. She was an active and long-time member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She was very supportive to her family and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Farley Jerome Burleson; and brothers, Bobby, Leonard, Buck, and Curtis Troutman.
Survivors include her son, James F. Burleson, Sr., and wife Dawn, of Mt. Pleasant; her daughter, Judy B. Hamby and husband John, of Stoneville, NC; six grandchildren, James Burleson, Jr., of Charlotte; Courtney Burleson and Andy Burleson of VA Beach, Johnny Hamby, Jr., of Asheboro, and Jamie Hamby, and husband, Alfred France of Stoneville, NC; and 15 great grandchildren.
Grandsons, along with fellow church members will serve as honorary pallbearers for Mrs. Burleson.
