Margaret "Penny" Caroline Miller Moody

Mrs. Margaret “Penny” Caroline Miller Moody, 75, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at CHS - NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Parkwood Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Waters will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:45 am Saturday at Parkwood Baptist Church.

Mrs. Moody was born May 27, 1942 in Waynesville, NC. She was a daughter of the late Carroll Edward Miller and Hilda Margaret Axley Miller. She was a graduate of Canton High School. Penny worked for 35 years at the NC License Plate Office in Kannapolis and also worked part-time for many years at Food Lion in Kannapolis. She was a faithful member of Parkwood Baptist Church. Penny was a loving and generous wife, mother and Grandmother. Always an avid reader, Penny also enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking and sharing great recipes. Most of all, she enjoyed church activities and family gatherings. . Penny is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Moody; daughter, Tiffany Moody Yelton and husband Ken of Concord; son, Derek Moody of Concord; sister, Pamela "Pam" M. Pursley of Lawrenceville, GA; and six grandchildren, Bradley Yelton, Jennifer Y. Stauffer, Heather Yelton, Justin Moody, Kaitlyn Moody and Neil Moody.
