Margaret Ruth Carter

Mrs. Margaret Ruth Chandler Carter, 76, of 909 Circle Street, Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Born August 23, 1933 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Lacy Chandler and Mae Overcash Keller. She formerly worked in the weave room of Cannon Mills. Mrs. Carter was a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sherman Carter, Sr.; and a brother, Bud Chandler. Survivors include three sons, Paul Carter, Jr., of the home, Rob Dunham of Raleigh, and Roger Dale Dunham; and a sister, Ila Mae Smith of Jamestown, TN.
