Margaret Overcash Carter

Mrs. Margaret Overcash Carter, 86, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 13, 2008, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Marler Starnes will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home. Born May 4, 1921 in Rowan County, Mrs. Carter was the daughter of the late Norman and Fannie Overcash. She was retired from textiles. She was a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bill Carter; two daughters, Barbara Orbison and husband Bill of Kannapolis, Linda Honeycutt of Concord; three grandchildren, Lynn, Deron and Gary; and four great-grandchildren, Carla, Hannah, Madison and Caroline.
