Margaret Vannoy Smith

Mrs. Margaret Vannoy Smith, 78, of 319 East 20th Street, Kannapolis, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. David Myers and Rev. Tony Fox will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born December 15, 1924, in Wilkes County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Robert Vannoy and the late Maggie Wilcox Vannoy. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was a member of Rodgers Park Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Iris Motley of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Darlene Seaford and Lynn Shepherd, both of Kannapolis; five sisters, Mrs. John (Frances) Shutt of Raleigh, Mrs. Buck (Alice) Dillard of Millers Creek, NC, Mrs. Ikey Brown of Wilkesboro, NC, Mrs. Betty Trent of Columbia, SC and Mrs. Lucille Adams of Kannapolis; one brother, John Luke Vannoy of North Wilkesboro, NC; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
