Margie Phillips Sherrill

Mrs. Margie Phillips Sherrill, 75, of Odell School Road, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Brian Center, Durham, NC. A funeral service for Mrs. Sherrill is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the cemetery at Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she was a member. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2:00 pm at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service. Mrs. Sherrill was born in Fayetteville, NC on January 6, 1935, a daughter of the late Newton Astus Phillips and Ruby Mae Couch Phillips. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Troy William Sherrill, Sr. who died in November 1994, two brothers, Joney Lee Phillips and Bob Franklin Bundy, and two sisters, Hazel Phillips Evans and Minnie Ethel Phillips. Survivors include her children, John Newton Sherrill, of Concord, NC; Troy William Sherrill Jr. and wife Bobbie, of Durham, NC and Elizabeth Sherrill Kendall and husband Richard of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Alexander Troy Sherrill, Katherine Elizabeth Kendall, David Matthew Kendall and Christopher Thomas Kendall; brother, Lewis Aaron Phillips and wife, Phyllis, of Oak Ridge, TN and sister, Barbara Phillips Hooper and husband, Richard, of Pensacola, FL.
