Marie Tarlton Flowers

Mrs. Marie Tarlton Flowers, 85, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Carolinas Healthcare System - NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ellen Campbell Gardner will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Flowers was born November 29, 1931 in Cabarrus County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Jay Lee Tarlton and Mary Virginia Miller Tarlton. She worked for Cannon Mills for 50 years, then retired from Sam’s Club as a food demonstrator for 10 years. She was a member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables. Marie also liked working in her yard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Franklin Flowers; and sister, Edith “Peggy” Goodman.

Mrs. Flowers is survived by daughter, Judy Gentle and husband Robert; son, Herman Flowers and wife Libby; brother, Aubrey Tarlton and wife Alice, all of Kannapolis; granddaughter, Rebecca Eudy; two grandsons, Aaron and Daniel Gentle; two great-grandchildren, Selah and Shilo Eudy; and her faithful canine companion, Magnum.
