Marie Hill Russell

Mrs. Marie Hill Russell, 95, formerly of Brantley Road, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Grigg will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Wednesday at the church. Mrs. Russell was born June 29, 1914 in China Grove. She was the daughter of the late George Hill and Fannie Buckwell Hill. She retired in 1982 from Cannon Mills Plant 1 where she worked in the sewing room. She was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Russell is survived by her son, Ed Russell and wife Gladys, of Kannapolis; one brother, Loyd Hill and wife Jean, of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Rusty Russell and wife, Leigh, Christina Dillon and husband, Bruce, and Brent Russell and wife, Michelle; and four great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 526 Wright Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
