As a Christian Minister, I would like to extend to you my sincere condolences for the loss of your mother. Although we are not personally acquainted, we do share the pain of losing a parent. Since we were created with a desire to live, death brings us much pain and sorrow(Eccleseastes 3:11) I have found that God's Word, the Bible, can bring comfort and hope. Jesus referred to death as a "sleep" and that "all those in the memorial tombs" will receive a resurrection. (John 11:11-44; John 5:28,29) The resurrection of Jesus Christ which is being celebrated this weekend gives us confidence in the Bible's promise that the dead in God's memory will awaken from their "sleep." (Acts 17:31; Revelation 20:12,13; Revelation 21:3,4) I hope you can take some quiet time to look up the above scriptures and reflect on the words given to us by Jesus Christ.
There will come a day when the tears of sorrow will softly flow into tears of remembrance...
and your heart will begin healing itself...and grieving will be interrupted by episodes of joy...
and you will hear the whisper of hope. There will come a day when you will welcome the tears of remembrance...as a sunshower of the soul...a turning of the tide...a promise of peace. There will come a day when you will...risk loving...go on believing...and treasure the tears of remembrance. All those sleeping in their graves will wake up and sing for joy. As the sparkling dew refreshes the earth, so the Lord will revive those who have long been dead."-Isa. 26:19.
