Mark W. Barringer

Mark W. Barringer, 52, of Charlotte, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at his home. A celebration of his life will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at the Amity House at Lady's. Inurnment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Born July 7, 1957, in Concord, he was the son of the late Harold L. Barringer and Harriet Hartis Barringer. Mark was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School, class of 1975. He received his bachelor's degree from UNC-Charlotte and master's degree from the University of South Carolina, where he graduated magna cum laude. He was employed for 31 years by the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Survivors include a sister, Lynn Overcash and husband Nathan of Oakland, TN; a brother, Randy Barringer and wife Jan of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
