Marlene Verree Daughtery Torrence

Mrs. Marlene Verree Daughtery Torrence, 75, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gene Edwards and Rev. Mark Murphy will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter, Shelia Stough, 1109 Cherry Brook Court, Kannapolis, NC 28083. Mrs. Torrence was born December 2, 1935 in Gaston County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Anna Laura Auten Daughtery. She worked for Cannon Mills in the towel department prior to becoming disabled. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alonzo and Martin Morgan. Mrs. Torrence is survived by four daughters, Sheila Stough, Benita McDonald and Julie Paxton all of Kannapolis, and Lori Womble of Mt. Ulla; one son, James Torrence of Kannapolis and Eleven Grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren.
