Mrs. Martha Clampet Sellers, 80, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Parrish and Dr. Tom Parrish will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 pm, Wednesday, prior to the service at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sellers was born on September 29, 1932 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Hubert Parker Clampet and Mary Aldridge Clampet. She retired from Cannon Mills Plant 1. Mrs. Sellers was a lifelong member of Elwood Lane Free Will Baptist Church. She was very active in the church throughout her life, including a long-time Sunday School teacher, church clerk and treasurer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Lucas Sellers; four sisters, Eva Snow, Dorothy Stuart, Flossie Bostian and Phyllis Lazenby; and brother, Frank Clampet.
Mrs. Sellers is survived by two sons, Jerry Sellers and wife Dawn and their children Andrea and Harrison of Chesapeake, VA and Phillip Sellers and wife Michelle and their children Allison and Phillip of Charlotte; three sisters, Mable Gross and Mildred Black of Kannapolis and Faye Absher of China Grove; a special niece, Pat Beam of Kannapolis; and many other special nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Elwood Lane Freewill Baptist Church, 2830 China Grove Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
