Martha Dora Sigmon

Mrs. Martha Dora Black Sigmon, 90, of Burrage Road, NE, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012, at CMC-NorthEast.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, December 14, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis. Rev. Darryl Evans will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 am Friday at the church.

Mrs. Sigmon was born April 2, 1922 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Charles Grier Black and Margaret Jane Stevenson Black. She retired from the business office at UNCC. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blair Houston Sigmon in January 2003.

Mrs. Sigmon is survived by her daughter, Jane Sigmon Dunne and her husband, Jack, of Mint Hill; a son, Hugh Sigmon and his wife, Paula Wiles Sigmon, of Chappaqua, NY; sister, Catherine Payne and husband, James of Clearwater, FL; brother, John F. Black of Huntersville; and four grandchildren, Sean Patrick Dunne, Ian Cameron Dunne, Eric Benjamin Sigmon and Jeremy Paul Sigmon.
