Martin Luther Griffin, 91, of Kannapolis, died Sunday, January 6, 2008, at CMC-Northeast. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Judy White, the Rev. Read Obituary
I was able to see Mart at the 2006 and 2007 Mc Carn reunions. I as well as all of the four surviving children of Louise Chapman will always remember him as the special person who made sure there were flowers on our parents graves when they passed. He will be greatly missed.
As a Christian Minister, I would like to extend to you my sindere condolences for the loss of your father, Martin. Though we are not personally acquainted, I have experienced the loss of a father and know what a great loss this is to you. After reading the comments from your friends and families, your father was deeply loved and respected by all. His legacy will continue in you as you reflect his wonderful qualities just like Jesus Christ reflected his father's qualities. Almighty God is a God of love and He understands your pain and sorrow. Through Jesus, He has given us a wonderful hope of a resurrection for our lost loved ones. At John 11:11-44, John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21:3,4 we find comforting words regarding the future and the hope of seeing them again. We have been taught the Lord's Prayer, encouraged to pray for God's Kingdom. In God's Heavenly Kingdom there is no sickness,death, pain or sorrow. When we pray for His Kingdom to be "here on earth" we are asking for those same conditions to be here for all of us to enjoy. Imagine a world without pain, sorrow and death. I have found this hope comforting and I hope you will too. May the God of underserved kindness shower you with the support of friends and family as you mourn the loss of your father.
Well I am going to start on a positive note. Martin was a gentleman that I grew to really love; Grandma talked about him non-stop. I think of him as a grandfather. He is very special. I would call him on a regular basis as I would my own grandmother just to see how he was doing. I enjoy the stories that he would tell when we would go over to see him just to say hi, but I sure enjoyed those Saturday hamburgers! He will be greatly missed, but when you start to miss him all you have to remember is that he touched everyone he met in a special way.

Martin will be grealty missed. He was a great man and I am so thankful that he and my mother were able to share such a close friendship during the past several years. She admired him so much, commenting often on his work at the Church, Saturday hamburgers at his house, and his relentless energy in mowing the grass in spring and summer. I will miss him as will my daughter, Katie, who so enjoyed her visits with him when visitng my mom. Our lives have all been enriched by knowing Martin.
I am sorry for your loss and you have my deepest condolences. I will be thinking of you. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do.

My heart goes out to you losing such a precious part of your family. May it comfort you to know that you are loved and surrounded by prayers and well wishes as you tread through this time of rememberance.
Although I have not seen Mart for many, many years, I remember him fondly and wish to pass along my condolences to his family.
He will be missed by all of in the family and as a special wonderful man to those of us he became a father figure when our parents passed away. He was a great friend to me and always made sure the flowers on Mom and Dad's grave was changed and kept ones to substitute if they got damaged. He was the family flower man and wonderful man.
