Mary Frances Davis

Mary Frances Bourne Davis, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2005, after a period of declining health. Mrs. Davis was born Sept. 14, 1937, the daughter of the late B.E. Bourne and Juanita Bourne. She was a graduate of Pisgah Academy in Asheville and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a degree in fine arts. An award-winning artist, Mrs. Davis was a former president of the North Carolina Art Council and a two-time president of the Cabarrus County Art Guild. She taught art at the Senior Center in Kannapolis and at Jackson Training School. She was also employed at Overnite Transportation in Charlotte. She is survived by two sons, Johnny Davis Jr. and Joseph Davis, of Kannapolis. Lady's Funeral Home is assisting the family of Mrs. Davis with arrangements.
