Mary Ann Demarcus

Mary Ann DeMarcus, 64, of N. Walnut Avenue, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Debra Madden will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born April 21, 1945 in Cabarrus County, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late L. S. DeMarcus, Jr. and Ernestine Price DeMarcus. She was a member of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church. A 1963 graduate of A. L. Brown High School, she attended Catawba College in Salisbury. Survivors include a sister, Carmen D. McNeil and husband Greg of Concord; brother, Mark DeMarcus and wife Ruth of Kannapolis; and a godson, Joe McKeown of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
