Mary Kathryn Gibson

Mrs. Mary Kathryn Schenck Gibson, 71, of 1306 Birch Street, died Friday August 18, 2006, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Audra Houpe will officiate. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Birch Street. Mrs. Gibson was born April 3, 1935 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Charles Robert Schenck, Sr. and Eva Ruth Bryant Schenck She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church. She retired from Cannon Mills and was later employed at Midway Tanning. For over 45 years, Mrs. Gibson was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Gibson is survived by a daughter, Teresa Lynn Davis of Burgaw and a son, Tommy Keith Gibson of Kannapolis. She is also survived by a brother, Guy Schenck of China Grove and a sister, Minnie Ruth Lail of Concord, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
