Mrs. Mary Lois Goodnight Conner, 77, of 1374 Rainbow Drive, Kannapolis, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Joe Crawford will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday in the parlor at the church. At other times, they will be at the home of a son, Doug Conner, 1380 Rainbow Drive, Kannapolis. Born March 12, 1929, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late C. R. Goodnight and Essie Dell Sink Goodnight. A graduate of J. W. Cannon High School, she formerly worked as a teller for First Union and Wachovia Bank. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Mack Conner, who died December 14, 2000; two sisters, Gladys Miller and Millie Walters; and five brothers, Ray, Fred, Aubrey, J.C. and Ralph Goodnight. Survivors include two sons, Doug Conner and his wife, Amy, and David Mack Conner, both of Kannapolis; a daughter, Mary Ann James and husband, Mike, of Concord; and a granddaughter, Brooke Renee Conner of Kannapolis. Memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church, 201 Vance Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
