Mrs. Mary Kirkman Harmon, our loving mother and mamaw, age 84, of 815 Carolyn Avenue, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jason Kirkman will officiate. There will be a graveside service at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will make headquarters at the residence. Mrs. Harmon was born December 6, 1920, in Gastonia. She was the daughter of the late Walter Farris Kincaid and Nettie Harkey Kincaid. She was a homemaker and member of Proximity United Methodist Church in Greensboro. She attended Blackwelder Park Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Survivors include sons, Barry Kirkman and his wife, Annette of Charlotte, Johnny Kirkman and his wife, Jann of Kannapolis and Larry Kirkman and his fiancee, Donna of Denver; daughter, Jewel Clayton and her husband Art, of Greensboro; brothers, John Kincaid of Reidsville, Lamar Kincaid of Savannah, Ga., and Bobby Kincaid of Greensboro; grandchildren, Amanda, Shannon, Patrick, Evan, Cam, Sean, Kim, Brian, Kadett, Gordon, Janessa, and Jason; and 18 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Bangladesh Missions of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church, 2204 Summit Ave., Kannapolis, NC 28081. She was always smiling and caring to others, and will live in our hearts forever.
