Mary Belle Honeycutt

Mrs. Mary Belle Sides Honeycutt, 96, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Tucker Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Pastor Jim Grigg will officiate. Mrs. Honeycutt will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Friday, October 31, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Honeycutt was born March 31, 1918 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Grover “Bud” Herbert Sides and Rosa Belle Troutman Sides. Mrs. Honeycutt worked in Cannon Mills for several years then worked at Terry Products for 31 years until she retired. After her retirement, she enjoyed piecing quilts and quilting for family and friends. She was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church for 74 years where she served in different Sunday School Departments.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Honeycutt; son, Guy Honeycutt; two sisters; and two brothers.

Mrs. Honeycutt is survived by her two sons, Tony Honeycutt and wife, Brenda and Mike Honeycutt and wife, Lynn; and daughter-in-law, Odell Honeycutt, all of Kannapolis. Mrs. Honeycutt was blessed with eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
