Mary Ella Kirkland Kimray

Mrs. Mary Ella Kirkland Kimray, 78, of 1701 Cold Springs Road, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Victory Temple. The Rev. Gary Posey will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home. Born June 16, 1932 in Lenoir City, TN, she was a daughter of the late Henry Skinner and Gertrude Kirkland Butler. She was a weaver in Cannon Mills for 32 years before retiring due to poor health. She was a member of Victory Temple in Concord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred "Jack" Skinner and Roy Kirkland; and her sister, Dorothy E. Karriker. She is survived by her husband of over 51 years, John Kenneth Kimray; son, Mark Kimray and wife, Vickie; grandchildren, Amanda Bell and Justin Crotty, all of Concord; and brother, Linwood Butler of Kannapolis.
