Mary Irene Lowder

Mrs. Mary Irene McDonald Lowder, 89, of 326 Cypress Road, Cameron, and formerly of E. 10th Street, Kannapolis, died Thursday, February 2, 2006, at her residence. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2006, at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Bo Sherrill will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born April 22, 1916, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late William N. McDonald and Annie Irene McDonald. She was a homemaker and formerly worked for Cannon Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Lee Lowder, who died March 28, 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Spry and Betty Garrett and husband, Ronald, both of Cameron; two sisters, Ethel Carrol of Concord and Myrtle West of Mocksville; three brothers, Frank McDonald and Luther McDonald, both of Concord and Bud McDonald of Maryland; six grandchildren, Michael Spry, Tamara Linn, Dean Spry, David Spry, Edward Garrett and Pamela Jenkins; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
