Mary Rose Basinger

Mrs. Mary Rose Cook Basinger, 75, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 6, 2013, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Manuel Valldares will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Friday prior to the service at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Basinger was born on May 24, 1938 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Grover and Amanda Cook. She worked for Fieldcrest Cannon as a spinner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Gene Basinger; sister, Edith Barbee; and six brothers, Roscoe, Clyde, Virgil, James, J.C. and Junior Cook.

Mrs. Basinger is survived by five children, Dixie Basinger and Daniel Basinger both of Lexington, Amanda Ragan of Salisbury, Gay Dennis of China Grove and Lecia Dennis of Concord; sister, Margie Clery of Kannapolis; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
