Mattie Evelyn Mcinnis

Ms. Mattie “Evelyn” McInnis, 98, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016, at CHS - NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 pm Friday, December 23, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:15 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Ms. McInnis was born September 11, 1918 in Rockingham, NC. She was a daughter of the late John William McInnis, Sr. and Eliza Faye Covington McInnis. She retired from Cannon Mills after 50 years of service where she worked in the #1 Spinning Room of Plant 1. Evelyn was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Kannapolis. She loved flowers and loved working in the yard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beulah Munday; and two brothers, William B. McInnis and John W. McInnis, Jr.

Ms. McInnis is survived by her nephew, Gary Munday and wife Donna and niece Carol White and husband David, all of Kannapolis. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
