Maureen Mary Graham Woodsom, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home on June 29, 2022. She transitioned in faith, surrounded by the love of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She leaves behind a large family that spans two continents.
Maureen Mary was one of seven children (siblings: Arthur, John, Cornelius, Patricia, Peter, & Paul), born in London England, to parents Harold Graham and Doris Davidson Graham. She fell in love with an American soldier, Richard Hilton Woodsom, United States Army, stationed in London. In 1958 they married in London and moved to America. They had 4 children, Sharon Faw, Dr. Shawn Woodson (Kathy), Sheryl Query (Wayne), and Shane Woodsom; five grandchildren, Amanda Watson, Leah McGhee (Chad), Savannah Huffman (Kirk), Zachary Faw, (Tasha), and Michael Antonius; two Honorary Grandchildren, Melissa Harris (Matt) and Christopher Faw (Summer); yielding nine great-grandchildren, Jacob Watson, Max Watson, Mallory McGhee, Liberty Huffman, Christian McGhee, Alexander Huffman, Kai Huffman, Ariya Faw, and Jayden Antonius; five honorary great grandchildren, Hayley Hartsell, Chloe Hartsell, Jaxxon Harris, McKinley Faw, Marshal Faw, and one great-great granddaughter, Delilah Hambly.
Maureen was a pioneer for women in business leadership. After becoming a US Citizen in 1969, she worked for a time as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone Company in Ohio, before moving the family to North Carolina. Maureen was the first woman to be promoted to the rank of General Manager for Boddie-Noell Enterprises, where she worked until her retirement. Yet, she would joyfully tell you her greatest achievement was being a loving, devoted, dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (GG, her favorite title).
She leaves behind a legacy of love with a foundation of faith. Grateful for the time shared with her, she lives on in the hearts of her family, both domestic and abroad. TTFN Maureen Mary. We love you the most!
