Mr. Melvin Willie Hudson, 92, of 1632 Eastwood Drive, died Monday, December 31, 2007, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Glynn Weatherby will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence. Mr. Hudson was born June 1, 1915 in Stanfield, NC. He was the son of the late Mack Lee Hudson and Flora Love Hudson. He was the Owner & Operator of several service stations in the area and the White Oak Grill. Melvin was also a farmer. He was one of the founders and former Vice-President of the Enochville VFD. He was also a member of the Cannon Memorial Lodge 626 and the Shrine Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Hudson and a granddaughter, Debbie Cox. Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Johnnie Hudson; son, Rick Hudson and wife Sheila of China Grove; step-son, Bill Milligan and wife Martha of Wesley Chapel; five grandchildren, Tony Hudson, Randy Hudson, Christopher Hudson, Aaron Joyce, and Derick Milligan; and 10 great-grandchildren.
