Mr. Melvin Mitchell Wilson, 68, of Beaver Road, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2006, at St. Enoch Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Mark Beam and the Rev. Constance Garrett will officiate. Entombment will be later at St. Enoch Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born October 20, 1938, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Albert Wilson and Esther Edna Overcash Wilson. He was employed as a technician with the North Carolina Department of Transportation for 33 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church where he was a Sunday school teacher and served on various committees. He was a member of the Lions Club of Enochville, founder and on the board of directors of the Enochville Fire Department. A member of Cannon Memorial Masonic Lodge No. 626 AF&AM, he was a Shriner and 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Oasis Temple and University Shrine. Survivors include his wife, Carole Beaver Wilson; daughter, Susan Lambert and husband, Donald, of Concord; sons, Michael Wilson and wife, Kelly, of Kannapolis and Dale Wilson and wife, Stacy, of China Grove; brother, Wayne Wilson and wife, Betty, of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Jesse Michael Wilson, Jacob Reid Wilson, William Ray Lambert, Anna Claire Wilson and Justin Dale Wilson; and two nephews, Todd Wilson and wife, Dawn, and Eric Wilson and wife, Donna.
