Michael Sylvester Pharr

Mr. Michael Sylvester Pharr, 69, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Lady's Funeral Home. Rev. Willie Poore and Rev. R. Fisher will officiate. Interment will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Pharr was born January 4, 1954 in Concord. He was a son of the late Sylvester Kay Pharr and Mary Nora Holmes Pharr. Mr. Pharr served our country in the US Army. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church of God. He enjoyed his family and liked talking to his fellow truckers. His CB handle was "Slow & Easy".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Regina Dyane Pharr.

Mr. Pharr is survived by his wife, Barbara Jane Staton Pharr; daughter, Rolanda Pharr of Kannapolis; two sisters, Linda Huntley of Concord and Johnna Little and husband, Minister Ray Little of Wingate; two brothers, Bishop Reginald Holmes Pharr and wife, Shelia of Concord and Anthony "Tony" Pharr of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Xavier Johnson, Darius Johnson, and Gabrielle Tobias; two great grandchildren, Andrew Tobias and Yousef Johnson; and many family and friends also survive.
