Mr. Micky "Mimi" Freeman, 56, of 733 Pine Street, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010, at his residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Friday, February 26, 2010, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gene Edwards and Rev. Ron Bushey will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home. Mr. Freeman was born November 10, 1953 in Salisbury. He was a son of the late Lawrence Freeman and Annie Lou Ballard Freeman. He owned and operated his own trucking business. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and was a certified SCUBA diver. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He was a member of Genesis Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Wanda Freeman. Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife of 39 years Johnsie Sellers Freeman; one brother, Ricky Freeman and wife Patricia of Kannapolis; one sister, Marilyn F. Mearing and husband Herb of Statesville; and several aunts and uncles. Memorial contributions may be made to the Genesis Baptist Church, 9710 Old Concord Road, China Grove, NC 28023 or to Hospice of Rowan County, 825-A West Henderson Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.
