Milton Young Curlee

Mr. Milton Young Curlee, 92, of Concord, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011, at his residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mr. Curlee was born January 21, 1919 in Union County. He was the son of the late Hughie Curlee and Ada Baucom Curlee. He was a farmer for twenty-five years. He also worked for Cannon Mills and retired from Curlee Construction where he worked as a laborer. Mr. Curlee was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming but most of all he loved his family. Mr. Curlee, in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Helms Curlee; son, Robert Curlee; three sisters, Pearl Leonard, Minnie Leonard and Ruby Horne and six brothers, Tom, Lonnie, Bill, Jake, Roy and Cebron Curlee. He is survived by two daughters, Rachel Scott of Mt. Pleasant and Jane Campbell of Concord; son, Wesley Curlee of Concord; four grandchildren, Jeff Curlee, Gina Ducote, Angela Fortson, and Rodney Campbell and fourteen great grandchildren, Travis, Ashley, Dylan, Corey and Landen Fortson, Kaleb and Noah Campbell, Kristin, Whitney, Brooke, Hunter and Chase Curlee and Michael and John Ducote. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
