Minnie Ruth Lail

Mrs. Minnie Ruth Schenck Lail, 88, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, January 24, 2016.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Concord First Assembly. Pastor Tom Whidden and Pastor Brad Hargett will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. The body will also lie in-state at the church on Thursday 30 minutes prior to the service.

Mrs. Lail was born December 15, 1927 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Charles Robert Schenck, Sr. and Eva Ruth Bryant Schenck. She was an active member of Concord First Assembly since 1976. Ruth loved our Lord Jesus and served Him in the following ministries: CFA Mission Outreach, Intercessory Prayer, CFA Golden Couples, Women in Crisis, Charlotte, NC (House Mother and Mentor), and the CFA Specialized Ministry. Ruth won many souls for Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Lail; daughter, Rita Wilkerson; sister, Mary Kathryn Gibson; and two brothers, Charles Robert Schenck, Jr. and Raymond Schenck.

Mrs. Lail is survived by two daughters, Gloria Tadlock husband Donald of Concord, Dale Barger husband Bill of China Grove; son, Mike Roper wife Brenda of China Grove; brother, Guy Schenck of China Grove; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
